If your complaint is justified and is not due to incorrect use or handling of the purchased item, you will, depending on the circumstances, be entitled to a free replacement, a refund, or a reduction in the purchase price.
If we assess that your complaint is justified, we will of course reimburse your reasonable shipping costs related to returning the item.
Please remember to include your contact details and order number when returning items in connection with a complaint.
Participants take part at their own risk and responsibility. Neither SvømDanmark, partners nor sponsors can be held liable for injuries you may sustain before, during or after the event. We recommend that you have personal accident insurance.
The event is conducted in accordance with the applicable harbour regulations and public authority requirements in the Port of Copenhagen. The organiser may change the route, start time and/or format, or cancel in whole or in part, for reasons of safety, water quality, weather, shipping traffic, or a bathing ban.
If you are under 15 years of age at the event, your parent(s) or guardian must consent to your participation during registration, including consent that participation is at your own risk and that the organisers disclaim liability.
At water temperatures below 16°C, wearing a wetsuit is mandatory. SvømDanmark nevertheless recommends that all participants wear a wetsuit regardless of water temperature for safety reasons.
All participants under 18 years of age must wear a wetsuit.
There are lifeguards and marshals along the entire route, as well as first-aid personnel on land in the finish area.
SvømDanmark reserves the right to have support boats and lifeguards pick up participants who, for safety reasons, are not expected to be able to complete the distance, or who are assessed as unable to finish within the time limit for the event, distance or heat.
Participants must wear the issued safety equipment such as swim cap and, where applicable, tow float.
When you register, you accept that you must be in good health and able to complete the chosen distance under your own power. You also accept the applicable conditions for each distance or heat, as updated from time to time. These are available at: https://copenhagenswim.com/distancerne/
Parasport participants, e.g. blind and physically impaired persons, may participate with necessary consideration for other participants. An escort kayak, fins or other assistive equipment are permitted.
When you register, you accept that you must check in no later than one hour before the start of your heat. Here you will receive an envelope containing a swim cap and timing chip.
You also accept that you must swim wearing the issued swim cap* and timing chip. The timing chip must be worn on the wrist and must not be covered by a wetsuit.
You can check in during the opening hours of the registration tent in force at any given time. If you check in before the day of your heat, remember to write your start number on your hand with a marker pen before the heat start.
Please note that check-in takes place in the registration tent on the opposite side of the road from Søren Kierkegaards Plads.
* In the 10th year you participate in TrygFonden Copenhagen Swim, you may collect a gold swim cap from the info tent. It is permitted to wear this special cap in the 10th year you swim around the Danish Parliament.
A representative of each team must check in at the registration tent no later than one hour before the start of the Krüger Relay. The representative will receive an envelope with four swim caps, a timing chip for the team’s final swimmer, and a silicone wristband to be passed from swimmer to swimmer.
Check-in for 10K swimmers takes place in the info tent and NOT in the registration tent.
Please note that changes to the published programme may occur, and we reserve the right to change the start time of individual heats.
If the programme is changed significantly, or if the start time of your heat is changed, you will be contacted directly by email.
You can change your name, distance and heat by logging in to your profile on Sportstiming. The deadline for name, distance and heat changes is approximately one month before the event; the exact date will be communicated by email well in advance.
After this date, changes to name, distance or heat can only be made by attending in person during the opening hours of the registration tent.
You are of course welcome to transfer your start number to another person. However, pursuant to the Danish Act on the Resale of Admission Tickets to Cultural and Sporting Events, it is not permitted to transfer admission wristbands or other tickets on terms intended to generate a profit.
SvømDanmark specifically clarifies that we do not accept resales intended to generate a margin. You may therefore not resell your start number for a higher price than the price you paid for it, including fees. If we determine that you are acting in breach of this prohibition, the start number will be cancelled.
If SvømDanmark becomes aware that start numbers have been transferred in breach of legislation, SvømDanmark will cancel such start numbers without any right to a refund.
We therefore strongly recommend that you transfer your start number only via your Sportstiming account to another Sportstiming account, as this best protects against misuse.
Without prior express written permission from SvømDanmark, TrygFonden Copenhagen Swim’s business identifiers, including but not limited to name, logo, start numbers etc., may not be used for commercial purposes. Commercial use includes, among other things, resale, prize draws/competitions, use as prizes, or use in marketing of any kind.
This applies regardless of whether the business identifiers are registered or not. In the event of a breach of this provision, SvømDanmark reserves the right to cancel such start numbers.
When you purchase a start number for TrygFonden Copenhagen Swim and are present at the event site and along the route (including both in the water and on land), you also accept that our photographers may take photographs/record video in which you appear, which we may subsequently use in our marketing or for editorial purposes. SvømDanmark is not obliged to provide you with compensation for this.
External circumstances may make it necessary for SvømDanmark to cancel the event. This may apply to a single distance, heat, day, or the entire event.
If the event is cancelled or interrupted during delivery, your participation fee will not be refunded and your participation will not be transferred to the following year’s event.
In the event of cancellation, we as organiser are not liable for any direct or indirect consequential loss you may have incurred, e.g. transport to and from the event city. In the event of cancellation, Sportstiming will, as stated above, not refund the administration fee paid at registration.
SvømDanmark disclaims any direct or indirect financial liability resulting from cancellation of all or parts of TrygFonden Copenhagen Swim due to external circumstances beyond SvømDanmark’s control and which SvømDanmark could not reasonably have foreseen or taken into account with due care (force majeure).
Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to: public authority restrictions as a result of war, terror or threat of terror; poor water quality; epidemics/pandemics including COVID-19 and variants; severe weather and natural disasters; changes in legislation; fire; interruption of electricity and water supply at the event site; loss of access to wastewater drainage; damage due to fire; other unforeseen damage including to inventory; other public authority restrictions including import restrictions or sales bans. It may also be due to heavy rainfall causing overflows and thus poor water quality, and/or where authorities impose a bathing ban.
In addition to what follows from the above points in these general terms of sale and delivery, SvømDanmark disclaims any direct or indirect financial liability arising from full or partial cancellation of TrygFonden Copenhagen Swim, programme changes, and other changes to the scope, size and facilities of the event, including increased transport costs to/from Copenhagen due to delays, loss of earnings, and any other direct or indirect financial loss.
Danish law applies. Disputes shall be settled by the Danish courts in accordance with the ordinary rules on jurisdiction.
Your registration for the event will appear on the participant list and results list with name, year of birth, start number, finish time and placing. However, you may choose to appear anonymously on the lists – tick the relevant box at registration if you wish to do so.

By registering, you accept that your swim time will be publicly available on Sportstiming under “results”.
If you swim the 10,000 m-distance, you accept that we will continuously track your swim via GPS for safety reasons. We delete the data immediately after the event.
