Rules and safety

Event Rules

At water temperatures of 16 degrees you should be wearing af wetsuit, but we always advise that all participants wear a wetsuit to assist with buoyancy and warmth for safety reasons.

We have surf lifeguards and volunteer spotters along the course togehter with safety stations with first aid equipment. While every effort will be made to ensure a safe and fun event, we are however unable to guarantee swimmer safety and ultimately you are responsible for your own personal safety.
Swimmers are responsible for their own physical condition and fitness.  We recommend you train appropriately for this event and are comfortable swimming your chosen distance in the open water.

The event organizer reserves the right to let the lifeguards pick up swimmers from the course, who are estimated to expose their own safety. All participants must wear the coloured swim cap and the timing chip from the participant kit.
